Join the Foundation for two dynamic events on 3 July in person or via livestream

An array of speakers will address the multitude of global challenges — including climate change, forced displacement, increasing inequalities, intractable conflicts, and erosion of democratic values — all of which call for strong efforts to defend and champion multilateral institutions, particularly the United Nations. At the same time, the dynamics of the multilateral system are changing with new strong players both within and outside of its institutions. Luckily some of these global voices will be a part of the conversation at Almadalen where the Foundation will host a #UNTalks: In defense of global norms and values with UNDP Sweden.

The Foundation’s second event will focus on ethics, integrity and leadership amongst international development stakeholders. It will address questions including: How is the trust for and the effectiveness within development work being affected by crisis?

The Foundation recently hosted diverse peacebuilding practitioners and UN stakeholders from around the world to discuss inclusivity, dialogue, and sustaining peace during the Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development. In interactive sessions they explored how dialogue supports peace and the necessity of the inclusion of diverse groups for sustainable solutions to crises and development efforts around the world. Read More  The UN development system reform and sustaining peace   Realities and Opportunities
In advance of the UN Secretary-General’s interim report on Sustaining Peace scheduled to be published in early July, the Foundation held a fourth roundtable as part of its on-going series on the implementation of the UN’s efforts to strengthen its work on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace. This discussion focused on the ongoing reform of the UN development system and the implications of and opportunities from this process for the operationalisation of the UN’s Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace resolutions, understanding that these processes are intrinsically interlinked.
