The award recognizes Ms. Norberg-Hodge’s “pioneering work in the new economy movement to promote a more sustainable and equitable world.” The citation reads in part, “Through your outreach and educational activities advocating for localization, you have contributed to the revitalization of cultural and biological diversity, and the strengthening of local communities and economies worldwide.”

This is a major honor for Helena personally, and represents a stunning endorsement of the work that she and ISEC have been doing over the decades.  She will receive the award at a gala event in Tokyo on November 25.
