The Event for All Stakeholders in Ontario’s Solar PV Market

Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre
222 Bremner Blvd. Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 25-26, 2012

Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 15, 2012, Solar Network International is pleased to announce its fourth B2B Ontario Solar Summit, now expanded to include an exposition. This unique event takes place June 25 – 26, 2012, at the Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Ontario is the fastest growing region in North America for solar energy.

SSX ONTARIO: Solar Summit & eXpo 2012 www.ssxOntario.comwill be the most comprehensive event ever held in the province of Ontario focused on solar energy, on its way to becoming the most cost-effective renewable energy resource.

As we continue to experience the evolution from traditional to alternative resources, solar photovoltaic (PV) has reached a critical stage as one of the top renewable energy resources. Government and the private sector recognition are supporting initiatives and incentives in this rapidly growing clean energy sector.  In 2009, the Ontario government launched the “Feed-in-tariff” (FIT) and microFIT programs. These programs are the first of their kind in North America developed to encourage clean renewable energy.

The SSX Summit program will be conducted over two days and include plenary sessions on key issues in the Solar PV market with conference tracks directed to specific markets. Attendees will explore the challenges and learn solutions for successfully implementing solar energy from senior industry stakeholders.

The two-day B2B Expo will feature up to 50 companies showcasing cutting-edge Solar PV products and services.

“Ontario’s Green Energy Act inspired enormous private investment in solar energy projects. Now is the time for us to learn from our achievements and build on our success for Ontario to realize its potential as a global leader in solar energy,” says Jacob Travis, President of Solar Network International.

The SolarVision Awards Gala June 25, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, will honour and celebrate the visionaries who are advancing and making possible the gains in solar energy in Ontario.

SolarLiving Show a special feature of SSX ONTARIO: Solar Summit & eXpo will be held the evening of June 25, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This feature will engage and educate the public about the emerging solar market in Ontario and will help non-professionals – both enthusiasts and the simply curious – learn more about solar energy solutions.
