The finalists of the 2019 Sustainable Food Awards have been announced.

Sustainable Food Award Finalists Announced

London – Ecovia Intelligence is announcing the finalists of the 2019 Sustainable Food Awards (http://www.sfawards.com). The judging panel (comprising an organic products firm, international food company, specialist research agency, packaging materials firm, and media) has selected the following finalists, listed in alphabetical order…

New Sustainable Product Finalists: BEE & YOU Propolis (Turkey), Fairtrade Original Young Jackfruit (The Netherlands), IBIS Rice (Cambodia), and Naturli’ Foods Chick Free (Denmark).

This award is given to a new food / beverage product with some important sustainability credentials.

Sustainable Packaging Finalists: EcoTensil (USA), VPZ Verpackungszentrum (Austria), and VegWare (UK)

This award is given to a new packaging format that has low environmental footprint in terms of design and / or materials.

Sustainable Ingredient Finalists: Barilla (Italy) with Mulino Bianco Soft Wheat, Diana Food (France) with Carrot Juice Powder, and DuPont Biosciences (USA) with HOLDBAC® YM VG and DANISCO® VG Cultures.

This award is given to a new ingredient that makes a significant difference in terms of environmental and / or social impact.

Sustainability Pioneer Finalists: Alara Wholefoods (UK), Bio Foods (Sri Lanka), and Sophie’s Kitchen (USA).

The sustainability pioneer award is given to an operator in the food industry that is a leader / pioneer in some aspect of sustainability.

Sustainability Leadership Finalists: ABP Food Group (Ireland), Bio Foods (Sri Lanka), and Cà Colonna (Italy).

This award is given to an operator who leads in various aspects of sustainability. The organisation is displaying overall leadership in sustainability and not mastering a few areas.

The winner and runner-up in each award category will be announced at the Sustainable Food Awards reception in Amsterdam on 13th June. The reception will take place at the Radisson Blu Amsterdam, hosted alongside the European edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit (https://sustainablefoodssummit.com/europe/).
