Now, Redfin—the fifth-largest U.S.-based online real estate portal—is rolling out a home energy score of its own thanks to a partnership with Tendril. Redfin hopes that by being an early mover, the company can capture market share by helping fill the growing satisfaction gap that exists for homeowners who cite improved energy performance as their number one unmet need. RUN ON LESS PROVES 10 MPG IS POSSIBLE FOR BIG RIGS

Sir Richard Branson announced the midway Run on Less results at a panel event during Climate Week in New York, alongside RMI CEO Jules Kortenhorst, PepsiCo senior director of supply technology & fuel efficiency Mike O’Connell, and Shell VP of technology Dr. Selda. Run on Less is a trucking roadshow showcasing advancements in freight efficiency. Over the first 10 days, seven trucks saved 1,800 gallons of fuel and $4,500. The highest one-day average for a truck was 12.8 mpg. If 1.7 million trucks achieved Run On Less efficiency levels, they would save 9.7 billion gallons of fuel, 98 million tonnes of CO2, and $24 billion! Read More.

SUMMIT TAKES ACTION ON SHIPPING DECARBONIZATION AT COP23

A heavyweight group of international shipping industry leaders will join forces at the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP23) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in November to create an action plan for the implementation of decarbonization strategies for shipping. GENEVA AIRPORT TO IMPLEMENT “AIRPORT APPROACH” FOR SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELS

Carbon War Room and partner SkyNRG, the global market leader for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), announced that Geneva Airport is the first to implement their “Airport Approach” business model. The model introduces an airport-wide SAF blend utilizing existing fueling infrastructure, making SAF standard for all flights refueling at the airport. Geneva Airport, in collaboration with Finland-based refiner Neste, has a target of at least one percent of annual jet fuel consumption being composed of renewable jet fuel starting late 2018. DUTCH POSTCODE LOTTERY GREEN CHALLENGE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Dutch Postcode Lottery recently awarded five start-up companies a total of €1 million for their innovative sustainability projects. The Rwandan start-up EarthEnable took home the grand prize of €500,000 for its sustainable and inexpensive cement-alternative for replacing dirt floors in homes around the world. RMI managing director Marty Pickett, who served on the jury for the eighth year, says, “It was inspiring to hear the ideas and accomplishments of the finalists. Their passion for their work and mission, and the potential for transforming their industries while reducing greenhouse gases, was extraordinary.” Read More.
