The secret to success? “To achieve wide-scale, systemic social change, social entrepreneurs must influence institutions beyond their four walls,” they write on Social Edge.

In the second offering of their three-part series called “Beyond-the-Walls Leadership,” they explain how to convert individual supporters into evangelists for your cause, and they tell you why treating volunteers and donors as far more than sources of free labor or an occasional check is crucial to your success.

They also show you how to build and nurture nonprofit networks, approaching other groups as allies rather than as competitors for resources.
