World Pulse Awarded UN 2018 Media
for Social Impact Award
The Media for Social Impact Award is one of the highest honors awarded by the social sector for the media and technology industry. Founder and CEO of World Pulse, Jensine Larsen, received the award at this year’s 2018 Media for Social Impact Summit presented by the United Nations Office for Partnerships and the PVBLIC Foundation.
The distinction is reserved for true media and technology leaders who have impacted their communities and have mobilized change in their industries. “We are proud to recognize this year’s award recipients who, as acknowledged by their peers, are at the forefront of using the power of media to support the sustainable development goals,” said William Kennedy, United Nations Office for Partnerships.
World Pulse Joins the Equals Coalition for
Gender Equality in the Digital Age
World Pulse is teaming up with 60+ stakeholders to create an unstoppable global movement where women and girls are equal participants in the digital technology revolution. Led by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and UN Women, among others, the Equals Partnership is launching a new fund for digital skill building and coordinating a series of initiatives designed to foster greater collaboration to bridge the gendered digital divide. Addressing the divide is necessary to help women and girls fully benefit from digital advancements and to allow the digital revolution to reach its full potential.
