Women’s Earth and Climate Caucus

kristyThe Power of Yin

Dear Friends,
WECC is glad to be supporting the upcoming iMatter March on May 8th.

Please join us in the iMatter March on Mother’s Day, May 8th in San Francisco. The iMatter Campaign was started by 16 year old Alec Loorz. It is a youth-led revolution that will serve as a wake up call to the ruling generation to act now to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and take action on climate change. iMatter youth are organizing marches all around the world from San Francisco to Boston and Mexico City to Kenya for the entire week of Mother’s Day. The solutions to climate change are many, but the core moral call to action is consistent: LIVE, LEAD and GOVERN as if our future matters. As the effects of climate change are escalating and the political climate is worsening, the youngest generation has the moral authority to reframe climate change as an issue of human rights and inter-generational justice. We will gather together at 1:00pm at 24th and Mission and march to SF Civic Center. With your help, we will empower, educate and mobilize a silent generation to stand up and speak out for their future. Sign up at www.iMatterMarch.org

The Women’s Earth and Climate Caucus (WECC) is working as a collaborative organization to create an international campaign to reduce carbon emissions and to foster a post-carbon economy and energy future, while also addressing societal change. The Women’s Caucus honors diversity, and addresses both the immediate actions required to stop global warming as well as the long-term societal and personal transformation needed for systemic, creative, and enduring change. We are a solution-based alliance that works with women leaders from grassroots organizations, policy- making agencies, business, and science.
