Waste Free Oceans welcomes the Unilever initiative to avoid micro beads in all their personal care products

 

The micro plastics are small pieces of plastics (less than five millimeters) that are being used in a range of cosmetic products like soaps, toothpaste, hair gel, bathing gel, eye lash enhancers and many more, acting as abrasive and fiber ingredient.

Unilever, the multinational consumer goods company decided to avoid the use of micro beads in their personal care products (both current products and those in pipeline) by mid 2015.
