In November 2021, Jean Houston, Ph.D. and Anneloes Smitsman, Ph.D, who are dear friends of Hazel Henderson, interviewed her for becoming a real-life character for Return of the Avatars, which is the second of their award-winning Future Humans Trilogy. We’re delighted to share this video interview here again. One of the key messages Hazel shared is that this is graduation-time for our species. In Hazel’s words: “We have to expand our consciousness now to the actual real circumstances of our survival.” She further warned how, “the game of incentivizing everything with money by algorithmically rewarding the seven deadly sins is over.” She further explained why education should be the fundamental investment that every society makes in its future, as the foundation for a healthy democracy. In her closing message, she advised that we need to learn how to decode our own experiences and to evaluate everything we are taught.
