the Year With December Events

Access Last Week’s Series Recordings and Register for December Events

Last week the Climate Leadership team presented two solutions-oriented events: A workshop on Climate Risk, Opportunity, and Disclosure: Insights and Trends from TCFD Leaders and a webinar panel on Transforming the Built Environment through Smart Technology and Innovation. It was a pleasure to host climate experts from business and government sectors to share their insights and discuss emerging trends that are transforming our roadmap to economy-wide decarbonization. With another strong turnout, we are happy to keep building momentum for our final events of the 2021 Climate Leadership Series.

Access last week’s sessions, and all Series events to date, on the CLC YouTube Channel.

Coming up! The 2021 Climate Leadership Series closes out the year with two more events next month on the road to zero under the theme of Ambition to Action: Mobilizing for a Decade of Decarbonization. December 8th Pathways to Net Zero: A Workshop on the Fundamentals for Getting to Zero
Preventing the worst effects of climate change demands immediate economic transformation. Fortunately, the number of global companies pledging to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 is picking up pace. The pathway to net zero will vary by entity, but there will be consistent aspects of the journey: measuring a complete inventory and defining a reduction strategy, setting a science-based target with interim goals, implementing process and energy optimization, investing in clean energy, breakthrough technologies, and quality offsets, and then tracking and reporting progress. This workshop digs into the fundamentals of getting to zero, including science-based net-zero targets, investing in verified offset projects, and publicly reporting on pledges, progress, and best practices.
December 9th Investing in Our Cities: Pursuing Smart, Resilient Infrastructure
Climate-related weather events are damaging and disrupting infrastructure across the country, jeopardizing the local economies and livelihoods that rely on it. The recently enacted Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will provide a critical influx of funding to increase infrastructure resilience moving forward. In this conversation, experts, and federal and local leaders will explore what is needed to leverage federal funds, catalyze private dollars, and scale up efforts to build climate resilient, equitable communities and how infrastructure investment is at the core of what cities need to get there.
