New “Foundations” magazine – Celebrating global prizes and promoting sustainable construction
The latest issue of “Foundations” magazine is dedicated to the activities of the Holcim Foundation over the past year including the Global Holcim Awards Gold prize hand-over that took place last December in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The winning project by Diébédo Francis Kéré is exemplary in terms of all facets of sustainability – and illustrates how “the seeds we plant today are that which will be harvested tomorrow.” “Foundations 14” also provides an overview of the five further winners that were acknowledged at global prize handover events held around the world. The magazine includes a short preview of the 4th Holcim Forum. The conference will be held in Mumbai, India in April 2013 and will feature keynote speeches by internationally renowned architects Sir David Chipperfield (UK), Alejandro Aravena (Chile) and Brinda Somaya (India) as well as economist Lucas Bretschger (Switzerland) and sociologist Ian Morris (USA).
