helio International presented, ‘Achieving ecodevelopment through smart energy planning’, twice during the cop 19 in Warsaw, Poland. The side events highlighted the need to focus on energy demand and access as a starting point, while taking into account a viable long term energy policy that favors ecodevelopment objectives.
Decentralised renewable energy solutions can substitute a traditional electricity supply to satisfy end services such as lighting, heating, etc. How to integrate the success of smart usufructal technologies into national plans, projects, and strategies was one of many questions raised in the discussion.  The answer is exemplified in the project EERA, Energy, Ecodevelopment, and Resilience in Africa.
