We watch with horror at the deroulement of the US elections….Rachel Maddow et al. wake us up at 3am here!  Happily you still have brilliant analysts except for the eyesore and earsore of Trump news!  I often wonder, and the same in the Brexit UK, why politicians are allowed bare faced lies on the media without any legal recourse.  Any ideas?  You have the 7000+liar and we have the Johnson and Farage liars.

I guess Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Poland, Congo, Venezuela…the list goes on and on…dont need to lie since their subjects are too cowed to take issue.  Will we all go their way too?

Thanks to you and your work possibly, and I hope probably, the wonderful Harvey Wassermans of this world will go on and on!

If we accept that pursuant to Article IV, Section 4, the United States has an obligation to protect states against cyber invasion, we are forced to also acknowledge that the federal government cannot fulfill its constitutional obligation to protect states against invasion unless the federal government is permitted to create a web of safeguards necessary to fulfill the Article IV, Section 4 constitutional mandate. Such an acknowledgment would establish firmly that states and the federal government have joint jurisdiction over elections involving federal offices.  Such a revelation would necessitate the implementation of nationwide election standards that could be as broad as citizens demand and as stringent as the federal government and states deem necessary to foil invaders’ (foreign and domestic) attempts to encroach upon U.S. elections. I would expect that election standards would likely include standards governing equipment usage, ballot design, process and time frames for purging voter registration files, managing recounts, voter ID standards and on and on. Learn more about our efforts pertaining to Article IV, Section 4 and a revote of the 2016 election by visiting http://www.revote.info. Our most recent case filing is still pending.

With respect to fraudulent claims and lies uttered by candidates, I have long thought “Truth in Advertising” guidelines should come into play when candidates lie and misrepresent. According to Truth in Advertising laws at the state and federal levels, it is illegal to make false claims about a product. truth in advertising – Google Search  P.S.: I am not an attorney
