Washington, D.C. – Today, American Rights at Work and American Rights at Work Education Fund announce the addition of six new members to their Board of Directors.

Joining the American Rights at Work Board of Directors are: Sarita Gupta, Executive Director of Jobs with Justice; Hon. Mark Schauer, former Congressman from Michigan; Edward M. Smith, Chief Executive Officer, ULLICO, Inc.; and Roger Smith, President and CEO, American Income Life Insurance Company. Julie Martínez Ortega, Vice President of Policy and Advocacy at PowerPAC, has been named the Chair of the American Rights at Work Education Fund Board of Directors.

“I’m tremendously excited to welcome our new board members,” said the Hon. David Bonior, Chair of American Rights at Work. “They have each made valuable contributions to workers’ rights and our organizations will benefit greatly from the diversity of their backgrounds and their commitment to bettering the lives of America’s working families.”

American Rights at Work is the nation’s only policy and public education organization dedicated to advancing workers’ rights to form unions and bargain with their employers for fair wages, benefits, and working conditions. American Rights at Work Education Fund is an educational and outreach organization dedicated to promoting the freedom of workers to form unions and bargain collectively.
