Title: Exploring creating synergies between The Waste Free Oceans Project and Upcycle the Gyres

Vancouver, Canada, June 12, 2012 – The Upcycle the Gyres Society today announced that it has opened a collaborative dialog with the Waste Free Oceans Project.

The Waste Free Oceans initiative is developing on a worldwide level with a specific global management structure in order to collect the floating wastes (only) at the coastlines of the most polluted places/countries (WFO hotspots).

The WFO and the UGS, have identified the same objective of addressing and taking action to clean up the plastic pollution from the marine environment and are exploring how to integrate the interaction of our combined, complementary approaches to produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of our individual contributions.

Alexandre Dangis, Managing Director at the European Plastics Converters said via email, “We do have the same objective so creating synergies between us is a must.”
