The UN Forum on Forests was scheduled to convene from 4-8 May 2020 in New York but became yet another casualty of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of meeting in person, the Forum held virtual informal consultations and adopted an omnibus resolution that ensures continued progress on the UN forest agenda. English

Themes of inclusion and solidarity were front and center on Thursday, as delegates continued to discuss “building back better” after COVID-19 to have the greatest impact on the Sustainable Development Goals. Local action, leaving no one behind, and international solidarity, particularly for African countries, Least Developed Countries, and Landlocked Developing Countries were also discussed. English
