Celebration of Founding Anniversary-Club of Rome April 7, 1968

“Ethical Markets salutes the Club of Rome on its 50th Anniversary.  Its famous commissioned report to M.I.T. in 1972 “The Limits to Growth” , whose lead author was the celebrated systems theorist Donella Meadows. electrified me as a young journalist and aspiring futurist!  I wrote about the implications of this report in The Futurist and became dedicated to understanding the errors in economic theory that seemed to be impervious to recognizing how our planetary home actually functioned.  I attended many Club of Rome meetings in various cities around the world in the 1970s and 80s.   In this informative commemorative account of its 50 years of trying to alert humanity of the crisis of unlimited economic growth, is also a video discussion I had with Aurelio Peccei, the Club’s founder, in Caracas, Venezuela in 1983.
I am a longtime member of the Club of Rome and celebrate with them today.
