Please join ASBC’s call with senior White House officials on the President’s climate change proposals.

Join us on September 9th at 2:00 p.m. EST for a conference call with the White House and the Council on Environmental Quality. 

We will be joined by senior White House Advisors and look forward to discussing the Presidents Climate Action Plan in detail. OnJune 25th, President Obama announced his Climate Change Action Plan. Join us to hear more about the plan and what it means for climate change. 

Policy Action

  • Support Energy Efficiency – Shaheen-Portman Bill
    Shaheen-Portman would achieve greater energy efficiency by strengthening building codes and offering incentives to states for additional improvements. ACTION: Urge your legislator to support the Shaheen-Portman Bill Today!
  • Family Medical Leave Insurance
    Congress is working to introduce legislation on an insurance program so that companies will not lose their best talent and employees will not have to choose between going to work and caring for a family member. ACTION:Add your business voice today!

  • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Disclosures – 
    The SEC is considering a rule to force public companies to disclose their political spending to their shareholders. A record-breaking 500,000 investors and members of the public have submitted comments, the vast majority supporting the proposed rule. ACTIONAdd your comment today
  • Protect Federal Lands from Fracking
    Urge the Bureau of Land Management by Friday August 23rd to protect federal lands from fracking. The Obama Administration recently proposed a new rule for hydraulic fracturing on public and Indian lands that would exacerbate climate change and threaten existing economic activities.

    This day-long conference will share proven approaches and some of the new developments in Denver and in Colorado that promise to enrich, even transform our city, our state, and our economy. ASBC Policy Director Richard Eidlin will participate on a panel discussion.
  • Business Leaders Meet with Elected Officials in Tennessee
    On August 9th, business leaders from Nashville met with a staffer of Senator Lamar Alexander’s office to discuss small business concerns related to a clean energy economy. This was the first of thirteen meetings across the country between business leaders and Congressional offices to push for action on energy issues.
