Confirmed Speakers

Deborah Matz, NCUA Board Chairman

Matz was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as the eighth board chair of the National Credit Union Administration. After confirmation by the U.S. Senate on August 7, 2009, she was sworn in on August 24, 2009.

Mrs. Matz is no stranger to NCUA and credit unions having served as a board member at NCUA from January 2002 to October 2005.

William Myers, Director, NCUA Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives

William Myers became Director of NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives (OSCUI) on June 6, 2011. As OSCUI director he is responsible for fostering credit union development and the effective delivery of financial services by small, low-income and newly chartered credit unions.

Well-grounded in cooperative service, Myers founded the Ithaca, NY CDCU Alternatives Federal Credit Union in 1979 and led the institution until 2007, growing the credit union to a $50 million institution serving 8,700 members.
