It was founded by John McConnell who first proposed that Earth Day be celebrated on the Equinox March 20th 1970. Every year the Earth Society Foundation oversees and promotes the Annual UN Peace Bell Ceremony on the Original Earth Day
Juliette Taylor Lallau is a French Writer and activist working with Generations Futures at www.Generations-Futures.fr. Generations Futures is a French organization focused on environmental protection, especially regarding pesticides and other pollutants.
Gemma Bulos is a multi-award winning social entrepreneur, singer and speaker. She was also one of the co-creators of 11 Days of Global Unity with her Million Voice Choir. We will hear her wonderful song We Rise and find out how creating the song led to her organization the Global Women’s Water initiative at www.GemmaBulos.com providing clean water and sanitation to over 315,000 people in Asia and Africa.
Alanna Hartzok is co-founder and co-director of Earth Rights Institute at earthrightsinstitute.org for which she received the International Earth Day Award. She is the author of The Earth Belongs to Everyone Alanna was the 2014 Democratic Party candidate for Congress in the 9th District of Pennsylvania and in 2001 for the Green Party. Alanna’s specific approaches include fair land tenure and public finance from a local-to-global framework.
