“Nova BH” is a co-financed urban operation that will promote dramatic improvements in almost 25 km2 of Belo Horizonte. The main objective is to promote better utilization of the local available infrastructure, especially the transportation system. This urban restructuring will reduce urban impact on the environment and improve quality of life.

 

 

 

Integrated energy-infrastructure in and around the Port of Rotterdam
The Netherlands, Rotterdam.
Sectors: Recycling and Waste
Total Investment: US $1 billion

Two pipelines are already under construction to carry heat from a large waste treatment and incineration plant to the district heating system in the city of Rotterdam. Distributed Energy System PPP Project in Xiaolan
China, Xiaolan, Zhongshan.
Sector: Energy
Total Investment: US $90 million

This project plans to create a Distributed Energy System for Xiaolan. The main project drivers are the environmental benefits from the reduction of greenhouse gases: a CO2 reduction of more than 30,000 tons per year is expected.Screen Shot 2014-04-28 at 3.02.23 PM

 

 

 

Wind Power Plants Dobrogea
Romania, Dobrogea.
Sector: Energy
Total Investment: US $342 million

Energy-efficient Public Lighting
Morocco, Agadir.
Sectors: Urban Development and Regeneration
Total Investment: US $10 million

Energy and maintenance costs for public lighting represent approximately 90% of Agadir’s energy bill and about 10% of its total annual budget. Project Statistics — GIB Summit 2014

Out of 151 reviewed projects, GIB selected the 30 best and most sustainable projects to be presented at the Investment Forums during the GIB Summit 2014. A further 18 projects will be presented in poster format. These 48 projects, which are all GIB Graded, feature an accumulated investment sum of over US $6 billion (as at 16 April 2014).
