MOTHERS & MOTHER EARTH

Mother’s Day is around the corner, and we want to invite you to honor your own mother and Mother Earth by joining with us to build a more caring, sustainable world. We have exiting news:

UNITED NATIONS MOTHER EARTH DAY

CPS President Riane Eisler just spoke on a panel at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, April 20th in New York. The session stems from UN Resolution 65/164 on “Harmony with Nature,” and the panel focused on a two-fold challenge: first, integrating, economic, social and environmental goals in a diverse world of differing levels of economic and social development, and second, ensuring equity between present and future generations. It is intended to inform the on-going preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2012 (Rio+20).Thank you to the Bolivian Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund for making this celebration of Mother Earth at the United Nations a reality.

Dr. Eisler brought our message of caring economics to Ambassadors to the UN and their delegates, providing a new holistic framework for harmony with nature that integrates human well being, environmental sustainability, and long-term economic success. She re-focused the conversation to bring attention to women and children: the still marginalized majority of people on Earth.

CPS IS TRAINING LEADERS – WITH GREAT RESULTS

CPS’s Spring Online training program for Certified Conversation Leaders has completed two full cycles, with Cohort C currently underway. Here are some of the outcomes from Cohort B:

Jeanette in New Zealand spoke about Empowering Women and Caring Economics at a conference and immediately received 10 invitations to speak all over her region. She also held a gathering in her home and said it sparked a fantastic conversation and an outpouring of gratitude for our work.
