UN Environment meets Argentinian officials as the country commits to boosting sustainable finance

Argentina is committed to develop sustainable financing in preparation of its Presidency of the G20 at the end of 2017. A UN Environment delegation went to Buenos Aires this week and had a series of meetings with officials from the Ministry of Treasury, the Ministry of Environment, the Central Bank and other financial institutions. The aim is to launch the development of a strategic roadmap on sustainable finance in Argentina, and contribute with the country to the study and analysis of the sector.

The Ministry of Finance also hosted a public event where Simon Zadek, co-director of the UN Environment Inquiry presented the report The Financial System We Need: Momentum to Transformation and discussed the design of a sustainable financial system.
