TRANSFORMING ADVERTISING: NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR “ETHICMARK”
AWARDS HONORING BEST SUSTAINABLE, ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGNS

2013 EthicMark® Awards Call for Nominations; Winners to be Announced at
The SRI Conference, October 28, 2013

Boulder, CO – April 8, 2013 – Nominations are open until May 15 for the 2013 EthicMark® Awards for
ads and media campaigns that “uplift the human spirit and society.” The winners will be announced at the
24th annual SRI Conference on Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investing on October 28, 2013 at The
Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Nominations are open to ads and media campaigns which run anytime between January 1, 2012 and
May 15, 2013. Nominated ads and campaigns can be produced by businesses, nonprofit organizations,
or individuals. Nominations should be submitted on Ethical Markets Media’s website.

The EthicMark® Awards, a permanent project of the World Business Academy, seeks to transform
advertising by demonstrating the power of media campaigns to further both the public interest and
legitimate private interests.

Hazel Henderson, who founded the Awards in 2004, said: “We welcome nominations of all media
campaigns that uplift the human spirit and society. We hope the 2013 nominations include campaigns
designed to transform the culture of consumerism that is fueling climate change, destroying the earth’s
ecosystem, and depleting its natural resources.”

The annual EthicMark® Awards are co-sponsored by Ethical Markets Media, LLC; the World Business
Academy; and the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Marketing Department, in
partnership with The SRI Conference and ESPM, one of Brazil’s premier institutions of higher education
in communication, marketing, and business management over the last 60 years.

“EthicMark® Awards recognize the tremendous power of the media to shape social attitudes and
national culture,” said Steve Schueth, president of First Affirmative Financial Network and producer of
The SRI Conference. “The responsible investment industry has for many years advanced the notion
that investment capital, when directed consciously, can help solve the pressing social, political, and
environmental challenges of our times. The EthicMark® Awards recognize similar efforts in the realm of
mass media.”
