Save the Date: Footprint Explorer Webinar April 5 & 6; Launch Event and Panel Discussion April 27

Jay OwenSustainability News, Beyond GDP

It is our pleasure to invite you to two upcoming events in April for the launch of our open data platform, the Ecological Footprint Explorer. Please mark your calendar for each event below and watch for future emails with details on registration for our April 27 event in San Francisco.
What is the Ecological Footprint Explorer?
Every year, Global Footprint Network produces a new edition of its National Footprint Accounts, which measure ecological resource use and resource capacity of countries from 1961 to the present. Based on approximately 15,000 data points per country per year, this data has been used to influence policy in more than a dozen countries, including Ecuador, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Russia, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.
This year, for the first time ever, the National Footprint Accounts will be available in their entirety for anyone to download on a new platform, the Ecological Footprint Explorer (beta version at http://data.footprintnetwork.org). The Footprint Explorer will officially launch on April 5, when we also will release the 2017 edition of our National Footprint Accounts.
