Last year we decided to dedicate more resources to supporting Fellow-led projects that could really transform society. The second of these is Buurtzorg in Britain, a programme that aims to replicate the pioneering healthcare model that Albert Medal winner Jos de Blok created in Holland. In the blog below, Jos explains why Buurtzorg has been so successful and why, working with RSA Fellows, it needs to come to the UK.

Building a global movement for patient centred care

Since its founding in 2006, Buurtzorg Nederlands has grown from a team of just four nurses to over 10,000. Following its huge success, Jos de Blok helped to launch Buurtzorg in Britain with Brendan Martin FRSA. Together they are aiming to revolutionise UK healthcare.
