Trump Is Still Out, We Are Still In

President Trump just gave a speech touting his planned withdrawal from Paris Agreement as an accomplishment. We know that Paris withdrawal is the opposite of what the climate challenge and American actors demand, which is why we’re showing up on the international stage again in December at the annual UN Climate Negotiations (COP25) in Santiago, Chile.

Will You Be Represented in Santiago?

Two years ago, US cities, states, tribes, businesses, faith groups, universities, and others asserted their power as American climate leaders. Stepping in for the federal government, their presence at major international events has been a key component of a mission to maintain and encourage American progress towards its national climate goals.

We need business leaders and public and private representatives showing up and telling their stories about climate action and all the other benefits that come with it. This year’s UN climate negotiations, COP25, will be held in Santiago, Chile from December 2-13, and will be a key moment for US actors to share our climate action stories with the world.

A US Climate Action Center will be active in Santiago from December 6 – 10.

The We Are Still In delegation will be organizing high-level bilateral meetings between US subnational actors and ministers or high-level officials of other national governments. There will be additional opportunities for attendees to engage and collaborate with international subnational actors who are part of similar coalitions, including the international Alliances for Climate Action.

Your organization can declare it’s interest in attending COP25 by submitting this form.

If your organization has already filled out that form, or would require additional information, please refer to the following:

Our US Climate Action Center schedule of events will be released in the coming weeks. Meeting opportunities will be finalized as COP approaches (and suggestions are welcome). Last year’s delegation met with France, Germany, and the Alliance of Small Island States. If you need other questions answered to reach a decision – please contact the We Are Still In team directly ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected])

Counteracting Misinformation About Paris

President Trump continues to misrepresent the Paris Agreement, adopting an America first, America alone approach that isolates our country and abdicates our global leadership role.

Misinformation is easily spread about what the Paris Agreement is, and its impact on the American economy and American people. As a climate leader committed to its success, we’d like to provide you with the following:
