IMPACT INVESTING CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
Overseas Private Investment Corporation
An Agency of the United States Government
The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government’s development finance institution, has launched a Call for Proposals for Impact Investing. Through this Call, OPIC seeks to catalyze ‘impact investments’ – profitable investments which deliver significant social and environmental impacts to emerging markets. The Call will be open to equity, debt and hybrid fund strategies in any sector that relates to social and environmental impact investing in developing countries. OPIC is ready to provide support in the form of loan guarantees, filling financing gaps, reducing investor’s risks, enhancing returns and encouraging the development of innovative and accommodating financial structures that meet the needs of impact investors. OPIC has retained Cambridge Associates, an independent financial advisory firm, to assist with this initiative.
