QUITO – CSRAmericas, Latin America’s biggest corporate social responsibility conference, will be transmitted live over the internet. The event takes place in Quito, Ecuador, from May 21–23.

Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador, will be inaugurating CSRAmericas tonight, at the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús in Quito.

CSRAmericas, organized annually by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the IDB Group, will be held at Swissôtel Quito from May 22–23. This year, the Ministry of Coordination of Production, Employment and Competitiveness of Ecuador, the Municipality of Quito and the Ecuadorian Consortium for Social Responsibility are co-organizing the event.

CSRAmericas is the leading event in Latin America and the Caribbean that focuses on topics related to responsible business practices and the promotion of sustainable and equitable development. The event provides a unique opportunity to connect with business firms, government agencies, civil society organizations, consulting firms, universities and other relevant players in the region.

The main theme of the event will be Value Chains and Skills: Opportunities for impact. Linking micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with value chains and training youth to increase employment opportunities are fundamental factors for the sustainable growth of the region. The panels will focus on opportunities, best practices and the main challenges to inclusive business and form partnerships for development.

This morning, the Day of Ecuador will showcase 17 successful and emblematic experiences in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility in Ecuador under the theme of Sustainable Investment and Competitiveness.

The event will also feature the Corporate Citizen of the Americas Award, which will be presented by Trust of the Americas and the Organization of American States on Wednesday, May 23rd.
