CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

The National Algae Association, a 501(c)6, is the first non-profit algae trade association in the US to assist algaepreneurs and algae farmers in creating commercial-scale algae farms on non-arable acreage or inside large commercial buildings in the US using algae research, proven technologies and commercial algae production equipment.

Presentations to include:

Growing for Nutraceuticals (Omega 3, EPA, DHA), Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Feed, Food, Bioplastics and Organic Fertilizer. CO2 and Nutrients. Harvesting and Extraction Methods. Financing Opportunities.

Note: All presentations MUST be focused on commercial-scale algae deployment and production (not theory).

Our audience is commercially focused, interested in companies that have proven their technologies, have pilot projects already producing in small quantities, and are ready to scale.

The algae industry’s current focus is on the early-stage production of high value products and co-products today, then focusing on large-scale biofuels projects over the mid to long term (3-5 yrs, according to a roadmap and conclusions from the Algae 2020 study). The NAA agrees with these short-mid-long term conclusions, as proven technologies are being implemented today in the scale-up of the algae production industry, starting with smaller niche markets and moving towards large-scale markets. Enhancements by algae researchers exclusive to labratory work will continue in the background, while algae farmers and producers continue to move in growing numbers into commercial-scale algae production.

Commercial algae producers and algae laboratory researchers are COLLABORATING in building the algae production industry. With over 50 years of algae research behind us both algae researchers and algae producers are working together to showcase algae technologies and proven pilot-stage projects can scale in a commercial environment.

The algae industry is estimated to be a $1.6 billion dollar industry, so there’s plenty of room for everyone.

For your presentation to be considered they must be submitted to the NAA by March 15, 2013. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
