Mark Your Calendars for Global Sharing Week!

Jay OwenCommunity Development Solutions, Global Citizen

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re partnering with The People Who Share to organize Global Sharing Week. The celebration, which runs from June 5-11, will connect communities across the globe to share resources, create collaborative projects, and bolster commons-based initiatives. That includes hosting food swaps, civic hackathons, and discussions on the intersection of technology and the cooperative movement.

So, how can you participate? Explore the Global Sharing Week calendar to findan event near youorregister an upcoming sharing event in your city. We’ve curated a list of events below — if you need more inspiration, check out our14 guides on throwing awesome community sharing events. And if you missed our MapJam in April, you can host one in your city during Global Sharing Week.

Even the smallest project has the potential to transform into a large and powerful initiative. City Repair started as a plan to repair Portland’s intersections and has now grown into a thriving, internationally-renowned, city-sanctioned placemaking organization — so dream big and have fun!
