Joint declaration from ICA, NCBA CLUSA amplifies opportunity to unify global cooperative voice
Held since 1923, the International Day of Cooperatives is observed on the first Saturday of July, amplifying the role co-ops play in working to achieve global peace and prosperity. This year, the annual observance day is an unprecedented opportunity to unify the global cooperative voice.
A joint declaration released by the International Cooperative Alliance and the National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA (NCBA CLUSA) urges cooperators everywhere to “lift up cooperative enterprise as a proven strategy to empower people to build more inclusive, sustainable economies” during this International Day of Cooperatives.
The declaration comes after the boards of both organizations held a historic joint session in the U.S. state of Alabama on Tuesday.
