Women Act For Climate Justice:

Ten Days Of Global Mobilization

October 28 – November 6, 2016

Self-Organized Actions In Communities Worldwide!

Women, girls and allies from around the world are taking action for climate justice and real solutions this October 28 – November 6, 2016 as part of ‘Women Act for Climate Justice: Ten Days of Global Mobilization‘ – and you are invited to participate!

Please join the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, the Women’s Global Call for Climate Justice and our incredible allies and partners as we unite to raise our voices and take action to show our resistance to environmental and social degradation; highlight the climate impacts our communities are facing; demand drastic change away from our unjust economic and development systems; and demonstrate the many effective, just and safe climate solutions, strategies and political calls that are being implemented by women and girls around the world on a daily basis.

This is a decentralized action campaign that everyone can participate in locally by submitting a photo and statement individually or as a group. Many allies are also choosing to organize a local march, direct action, event or other creative project.

We are taking action at this time to show our diversity and collective strength in advance of and far beyond the November 2016 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – COP22 Conference in Marrakech, Morocco, where we must work together to ensure a sustained civil society presence and pressure to demand that all government road maps ahead originate in a climate justice framework – and with respect to human, Indigenous and women’s rights, and gender, social, economic and ecological justice.

Women have always stood on the frontline of climate impacts, we must act to ensure that their voices and solutions are brought to the forefront of all decision making and actions to address the climate crisis.
