Inrate provides capacity-building support to sustainable investment fund manager in Vietnam
Fribourg, October 12, 2010

Inrate is pleased to announce the outcome of a project aimed to enhance the understanding and integration of sustainability issues among financial market players in Vietnam. Inrate has partnered with VietNam Holding (VNH), an investment company dedicated to Vietnam, to assess its portfolio as it makes its transition to a sustainable investment fund.

Inrate, in its consulting role for VNH, has provided advice and training to VNH analysts in order to acquire the necessary sustainability know-how and be able to translate major ESG issues into the Vietnam context. On the other hand, VNH value driven bottom-up research process and the close relationship between VNH and its investee companies has been essential to the success of this project.

Philippe Spicher, CEO of Inrate commented: “Emerging and frontier markets are becoming an interestingly source of returns and diversification for investors but still lag behind on ESG performance, disclosure and consciousness. In this context, it is crucial to build a local and solid know-how over sustainability issues in order to empower key market players. I believe that the VNH project points in the right direction and that its benefits will spread across investors, asset managers and companies.”
