IBM’s Internal Crowdfunding Rewards Employee Innovation — We take a look at an internal IBM program that makes use of crowdfunding to help Big Blue stay innovative. The initiative was first implemented during summer 2012. Since then, it’s been tried at two more offices, with potential for replication elsewhere in the firm.

Ban on General Solicitation Lifted 

The ban on general solicitation — advertising — of securities deals was lifted this week. Congress mandated the SEC to do away with the restrictions in Title II of the JOBS Act. Following months of delays, the SEC voted 4-1 to lift the ban in July. There was a two-month waiting period, before the law came into effect on Monday.
