Harmony in the Holy Land – join us in co-creating it

I’m writing with an exciting invitation to you to participate in creating an historic event to build peace, healing and harmony in the Middle East as part of the global events that are activating on Dec. 21st and 22nd this year.  It’s the perfect time for such an event with the uneasy truce in Gaza and a recognition that deeper healing is needed.

The vision is to have a large free concert with great music, blessings, inspirations, and prayers that is focused on harmony in the Abrahamic faiths, with representatives from each.  It’s similar to a vision that Bono shared for his top 10 list for this decade (and yes, we’ll reach out to see if he will be part of it!).  I’ll paste that below.

There are 40+ major events and hundreds of smaller events happening on Dec. 21st to 22nd that we are integrating into a global “Three Days of Love” that will culminate with a 33-hour live Birth 2012 broadcast of these events.  The Jerusalem event would happen on Dec. 22nd right before the mainstage Los Angeles event that includes luminaries like Barbara Marx Hubbard, Neale Donald Walsch, Marianne Williamson, Michael Beckwith, Jack Canfield.  So they would increase the visibility for each other.

Aliza Hava has long held a similar vision and activated Peace Day Live unifying music artists for peace. She is leading this effort with other established peacebuilders.

We need to raise $50K in the next few days to secure the venue and core talent and then pitch artists like Bono  It’s certainly short time horizons but there is magic in the air and with events happening around the world from Australia to Mexico to India to Thailand to Brazil, it’s a very unique moment and opportunity.  The money would be a tax-deductible contribution through her Peace Day Live, which is fiscally sponsored by a non-profit arts group based in NYC called Fractured Atlas.

The Overview of the event and team is attached.  Can we count on you for $10K to be one of the backers of this beautiful vision provided all the elements line up in the next few days?

And here’s what Bono wrote about his vision as part of his top ten wishes for the new decade, which makes us think he’ll be excited to join in once the foundations are in place:

Festival of Abraham

“Here’s something that could never have happened in the Naughts but will maybe be possible in the Tweens or Teens — if there’s a breakthrough in the Mideast peace process. The idea is an arts festival that celebrates the origin of the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Every year it could be held in a different location; Jerusalem would obviously be the best place to start.

In Ireland, at the height of the “Troubles,” it was said that the only solution for rabid sectarianism was to let 1,000 punk-rock bands bloom: music helped create a free space for dialogue (of a high-volume variety). So no politicians allowed. Artists only.”  – Bono
