According to the Green Growth Indicators 2017 report released today, progress around the world has been made but it remains slow. For example, urban areas are growing rapidly, even in some already highly urbanised countries, and across the OECD built-up areas are growing faster than populations. Buildings cover 30% more land now than in 1990. Globally, an area the size of the UK has been converted to buildings since 1990.
