The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as the Secretariat of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes (10YFP) on Sustainable Consumption and Production, has pre-launched the online Global SCP Clearinghouse atwww.start.scpclearinghouse.org. The Global SCP Clearinghouse is meant to offer a unique one-stop hub dedicated to advancing the implementation of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) worldwide. Through knowledge sharing, cooperation and participation tools, all stakeholders – governments, UN agencies and other international organizations, the business sector and civil society – will be offered the opportunity to:
- Participate and contribute to regional and thematic “communities of practice” dedicated to key SCP areas or sectors, such as sustainable food systems, sustainable tourism, sustainable public procurement or lifestyles, education and youth;
- Share and find information on SCP through a worldwide SCP initiatives database, news and events;
- Build networks and identify partners with an interactive SCP cooperation marketplace, working groups and forums;
- Strengthen capacities with the experts / resource persons directory, a dedicated E-library and other tools included in MySCP, the members’ personal space on the platform.
- The Global SCP Clearinghouse will also serve as the information platform of the 10YFP (www.unep.org/10yfp).
