A New Model for Skill Development in India

India is expected to create 50 to 70 million jobs over the next five years. Somewhere between 75% and 90% of these jobs will require some form of vocational training. Yet large portions of India’s labour force lack the skills needed to fill these jobs.

On the 2018 India Global Leaders Programme in Bangalore, India, GIFT and our team of participants from across the region worked with Labournet, a professional social enterprise that provides work-integrated job training to informal workers across India. We helped Labournet develop a new business strategy to provide new sources of revenue for the organisation, reducing their reliance on government funding and CSR grants.

The Public Forum for the Malaysia Young Leaders Programme

27 April 2018

The end of the 2018 Malaysia Young Leaders Programme was marked by a public forum at the Sime Darby Convention Centre. Participants presented their ideas on how to elevate independent players in the palm oil value chain and encourage small-scale, sustainable farming to an audience of business, civil society and government leaders.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Datuk K. Yogeesvaran, Secretary General from the Ministry of Plantations, Industries and Commodities, for opening the Forum with his remarks.
