GIB has explored new fields

Jay OwenGreen Prosperity, Sustainability News

Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB) has explored new fields: the Arctic, by joining the Arctic Future Initiative; Informal Settlements Upgrade in Durban, partnering with Slum Dweller’s International (SDI); and the digital world, by partnering with Digital Infrastructure Investment (Di²). ecos, the implementing company of GIB joined forces with GIZ to promote  Sustainable Infrastructure Standards, like SuRe®, in India, Indonesia and China.

The Coalition with Arctic Futures Initiative

It is a pleasure to announce that GIB is building a coalition with the Arctic Futures Initiative (AFI). AFI is an international, collaborative and inclusive initiative of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). A vast and rapid transformation of the Arctic and surrounding areas is taking place. AFI brings a systems analysis perspective to the future of the Arctic. The project will involve stakeholders, such as policy and businesses, in dialogue already from the planning stage, through implementation to final aims.

IIASA, a scientific research institute based in Vienna, Austria, founded in 1972, IIASA conducts policy-oriented research into problems of a global nature that are too large or too complex to be solved by a single country or academic discipline.
