A Note From the CEO:

“It was the best of times, It was the worst of times.” These opening lines to Charles Dickens’ novel, A Tale of Two Cities, could just as well open a report on the US economy today. Low oil prices and uncertainty around the election are restricting business investment while a strong dollar and lackluster global growth squeeze exports. At the same time consumer confidence and an improving labor market are buoying up our consumer driven economy. There’s a sort of economic multiple personality disorder brewing.

Fortunately, there are some consistent and healthy components in this economic picture. Three economic growth engines, which show no signs of schizophrenia are electric vehicle (EV) sales, out of home advertising (OOH) and secure, renewable energy generation. Envision makes solar powered products for all three.

EV sales have been up every month this year even in the face of cheap gasoline. YTD we have seen a 30% increase over the same period last year and the arrival of the 200-mile range Chevy Bolt and Tesla 3 EVs both selling for less than $30k will only enhance this fantastic growth as we head into 2017. You can’t have EV’s without places to charge them. Our EV ARC™ and Solar Tree® products offer the industry’s only and best transportable, solar powered solutions that can be deployed in minutes rather than after months of expensive and time consuming installation work. Free, clean and secure energy is the icing on the cake.

Magna Global recently reported that OOH was “the only part of the advertising industry that continued to grow”. In fact, OOH is up around 5% YTD. Our solar powered ad displays are being introduced to a large and growing market and in a manner which is without parallel in the industry.

Renewable energy markets surged in the first half of this year. Probably the most exciting area of growth was in the combination of solar and battery storage – the new killer app. All of our EV ARC™ products are delivered with this exciting and compelling combination of local generation and storage and our Solar Tree® product can be too. You can’t beat our solution for energy security and as long as US businesses continue to lose around $200 billion a year on power outages I believe that our energy security products will enjoy ever greater market share.

I feel very strongly that we are shooting at the right targets here at Envision. We have a great team of combat vets, disabled workers and other highly motivated individuals. They are not just making good products, they are making great products that can and, I believe will, profoundly change the way we fuel our vehicles and generate the electricity that we need more today than ever.

It’s a great time to be doing what we’re doing.

Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar
