Driving on Sunshine: August 2018 Edition

Greetings from fire ravaged California,

I had dinner last night with a chap who told me that humans are having no effect on the planet’s weather and that, contrary to the global warming fears (set about by dangerous liberals), we are going to have another ice age in 10,000 years. I offered that, even accepting his ice age proposition, his children might be more concerned about what is happening now and in the next 100 years than whatever shifts in planetary conditions might come about ten millennia hence.

Any way you look at it we seem to be having a very hot and dry summer (winter for the Australians) in some places, and equally wet and severe conditions in other parts of the world like India and even Switzerland. Many of you know I am from Scotland, formerly the wettest and most dreary place in the world. Not any more. Who wants to go to the Cote D’Azur and eat French food when you could enjoy haggis* in 90-degree heat in Edinburgh? (don’t answer that).

Just in case the 45 billion tons of CO2 we are putting into the atmosphere every year is causing a problem, I’m delighted that we, at Envision Solar, are creating products which reduce that number. Transportation and the generation of electricity account for 70% of US greenhouse gas emissions. Our products do away with both sources. And if it turns out that humans are having no effect on the climate – well, we think our customers will still enjoy driving on sunshine. No gasoline bill, no utility bill and air that at least looks better even if it wasn’t really harming us.

So, the company is doing good. But is it doing well?

  • Record Q1 revenues
  • Record Q2 revenues
  • First half results which are far better than any full year in our history
  • Record contracted backlog sustaining the favorably trend
  • Record qualified pipeline of prospective customers
  • Weekly announcements of new customers, contracts and deliveries
  • Flat overhead costs even in the face of our growth (= discipline)
  • Dramatic and sustained growth, globally, in the areas we target

Everything we do at Envision Solar is directed at building solid fundamentals because we believe that that is the surest way to create long term value. It’s good to be doing the right thing at the right time. Thank you for all your support and for those who are affected by the fires, we at Envision offer our thoughts and, more importantly, our actions.
