Vancouver, Canada, June 6, 2012 – The Upcycle the Gyres Society (“UGS” or the “Society”) today announced that Dr. Martin Blake has agreed to accept the appointment of Strategic Advisor.
Dr. Blake brings outstanding capabilities and an extensive background, especially in the area of sustainability. His strategic guidance, advice, and contributions to the UGS will be very important as we proactively pursue the creation and development of a brand new industry; to transform plastic marine debris into fuel.
Dr. Blake is an award winning Top 100 Global Sustainability Leader, Visionary Strategist, Chairman, Company Director, Prolific Keynote Speaker at National and International Conferences, Events, and Academic Institutions, & Mentor with over 25 years of practical experience which includes amongst others, Sole Proprietor of Blake Advisory Pte. Ltd., Director of The GreenAsia Group, Singapore, Strategic Advisor at Carbon Systems, Australia, and Chairman at Carbon Zero Solutions Ltd., UK.
The UGS is looking forward to initiating the cleanup of plastic pollution from the marine environment immediately, and at a commercial scale within the next three years.
