Renowned Economist Ladislau Dowbor and Journalist Melanie Feliciano to Represent Ethical Markets Media atRio+20

Saint Augustine, FL, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – May 16, 2012 – Ethical Markets Media (USA and Brazil) will have a strong presence at Rio+20 with Ladislau Dowbor representing Ethical Markets Media and the Green Transition Scoreboard® and Melanie Feliciano reporting via video, twitter and on www.ethicalmarkets.com.

A world renown economist, Dr. Ladislau Dowbor is currently a professor at the Catholic University of São Paulo in the areas of economy and administration.  Dowbor is the author of Formation of Capitalism in Brazil (Brasiliense, New York, 2010) and Economic Democracy (Petropolis, Rio Grande Do Norte, Brazil, 2008, 2010) with over forty books published on the basic problems of economic development as well as local and regional development planning in different countries.  He consults for various UN agencies, governments and municipalities and is an advisor to the Polis InstituteCENPECIDEC, the Paulo Freire Institute and other institutions as well as Ethical Markets Media.  He has coordinated several local and national development plans and has written many articles and technical reports on urban development, community participation, local information systems and environmental issues related to the Green Transition Scoreboard®.

The Green Transition Scoreboard® (GTS) is a time-based, global tracking of private investments in green markets. The GTS icon shows visual progress as the barometer rises away from the out-dated Fossil Fuel Era as green investments increase.  With data from 2007 forward, the GTS has reached $3.3 trillion, indicating private investors are on track to invest $1 trillion annually, setting the path for governments and institutional investors to follow.
