Time to apply for our International Training on Dialogue and Mediation

The International Training on Dialogue and Mediation will be held in Uppsala on 5-15 June 2019. It builds on 45 years of peace and conflict research and education at Uppsala University, combined with insights from the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation’s ongoing engagement in international policy discussions in the peacebuilding field. This training is specially designed for practitioners, policymakers and researchers from international and regional organisations, civil society and universities with a particular focus on the use of dialogue in building and sustaining peace in developing countries and territories eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA). Participants will become acquainted with the latest research in this field, guided by skilled experts, and will jointly reflect on its relevance and applicability to their ongoing work while developing a network of colleagues from other countries. Re-connecting peacebuilders in Amman

Together with Uppsala University, the Foundation recently hosted the second regional gathering of its joint alumni network, this time for members from West- and Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

For 30 years, the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University has been running international trainings in the field of peace and security, in recent years with a focus on dialogue and mediation. Peace researchers, policymakers and practitioners have come to Uppsala from all parts of the world to take part in the trainings, which since 2017 are co-organised with the Foundation. An alumni network has been created to facilitate continued exchange between former training participants and a series of regional alumni seminars is organised by the University and the Foundation.
