Climate Bonds news: Sean P Flannery, former CIO, Americas, of SSgA, joins Climate Bonds Advisory panel

Sean P Flannery, former CIO, Americas, of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), has joined the Climate Bonds Advisory Panel.

At SSgA Sean was responsible for over US$2 trillion in global assets under management, across all listed asset classes and in all global geographies. He is now a director IFOK and Meister Consultants.

Sean has played a key role in important financial market innovations all around the world, including the Pan Asian Investment Fund, a ground-breaking strategy led by 11 east-Asian central banks which opened several member countries to outside investments in sovereign debt, and innovative approaches to liability-driven investment strategies to reduce risk for pension and insurance funds.

A long-time champion for development of sustainable health initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa, Sean co-founded the African Institute of Innovation and Technology in Kisumu, Kenya.
