Dear Friend of Biomimicry,

Here at Biomimicry 3.8, we are in the height of our busy season, lining up new biomimics, releasing our prized Resource Handbook, and holding a webinar explaining our masters-equivalent program, Biomimicry Professional. Many of these opportunities end in the next week or two, so here is a head’s up:

1. Biomimicry Specialists: enroll by Thursday, January 31st
We are getting very excited about the 2013 BSpecialist cohorts. We’ve received applications from all over the world from a diverse group of individuals that want to join the biomimicry community to create conditions conducive to life in their own unique ways. We can’t wait to give them the tools, information, and experience they need to start accelerating positive change through the biomimetic approach.

But time is running out for enrolling in the program before late fees start to be incurred. In fact, Thursday is the last day to enroll before late enrollment begins on Friday. The doors to the 2013 program close on February 10.

2. Resource Handbook: orders due by February 1st
For those of you who have not yet ordered, we are thrilled to announce that the Biomimicry Resource Handbook: A Seed Bank of Knowledge and Best Practices (2013) is now being made available to the general public for purchase.

Originally created as the reference textbook for our Biomimicry Professional and Specialist Certificate Programs, this comprehensive and truly definitive Handbook on biomimicry is now available for both students and professionals alike.

We are currently accepting pre-orders for the definitive guide to the “how” of biomimicry. Because the Resource Handbook is a uniquely designed and crafted resource at over 200 pages, we must place a print order that closely matches the demand. Our printing schedule aligns with our certificate program kick-off dates, so this will be the only printing in 2013. If you order your Resource Handbook by February 1, 2013, we will be able to include your very own copy into the total and we will be shipping the freshly printed books at the beginning of March. Cost is $95 + shipping, but you will only pay $50 now for the pre-order and the remaining fee and shipping when the handbook is ready to be sent.

Please visit our website to learn more and don’t forget to order by February 1 to receive your copy in March.

3. Biomimicry Professional Certification Program: webinar on Monday, February 4th at 8am Pacific, 9am Mountain
Have questions about our 2-year, masters’ equivalent program, Biomimicry Professional Certification Program? Monday is your chance to get answers directly from Dr. Dayna Baumeister, keystone, co-founder of Biomimicry 3.8 and Director of the program. As the current graduates recently attested in Costa Rica on the final in-person intensive, this is a life-changing, life-enhancing experience that will transform you into a biomimic.

Webinar participants will have one hour to engage in dialog about the BProfessional Program and find out details about the curriculum, expected outcomes and the benefits to your professional and personal goals.
