ISO 14006:2011 Environmental Management Systems – Guidelines for incorporating ecodesign

Ecodesign is increasingly in the forefront of business planning. The last few years have seen a growing volume of product-related environmental legislation and an increasing market expectation that businesses are addressing the environmental impacts of their products and services. ISO 14006 has been introduced to assist organisations in incorporating and implementing systematic and structured ecodesign activities within an environmental management system (EMS) such as ISO 14001:2004. It will also be useful for those organisations that have no formalised environmental or quality management system but which are interested in reducing the adverse environmental impacts of their products.

If you can answer yes to any of the following questions you will benefit from finding out more about ISO 14006

Are you operating an ISO 14001, EMAS or similar environmental management system?
Are you carrying out ecodesign either within or outside of a systematic EMS or QMS?
Are you committed to reducing the environmental impacts of your products but haven’t started yet or don’t know how to start?
Are you doing none of the above but feel you ought to find out more?
