Helen Maslocka, life sciences and green technology social entrepreneur, writer and poet

Helen Maslocka is a visionary CEO of three successful companies. She presently consults.  Helen has brought companies public, taken companies private, and raised hundreds of millions of dollars privately and publicly. She is very interested in new ways of creating business that are holistic and create a value proposition with longevity as well as natural exits. She has worked in many industries including finance, life sciences and green tech.  She astutely solves strategy, engineering, operations, and marketing and sales issues. It has been said that she is a “wonderful orchestra conductor” of business tying together the pieces with respect and caring for all stakeholders. Helen is capable of learning new technology quickly and loves to do so. She is known as a strong, convincing and dynamic leader.

 

Helen has expertise as a driver of EPS results as a successful CEO, general manager, marketing and corporate development officer for public and private start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. She was a venture partner with the investment banking firm, Dewey Devlin and King, and has completed many corporate partnering, strategic investments, financings, and mergers and acquisitions. The Boston Business Journal described her in 2004 as a “Woman to Watch.” Amongst her cultural and creative pursuits, Helen has produced new musical theatre in New York City.

 

Notably, she launched the original Lasik procedure internationally for Summit Technology. Her astute ability to simplify and tell a succinct story of a complex technology won her accolades and awards. She has seen two drugs, Ontak and Campath from bench to market as well as two cardiovascular devices from bench to market. She started her career at Massachusetts General Hospital where responsible for a third of the inpatient beds; she created budget accountability for the first time in the hospital’s history.

 

She has broad and deep experience working closely with boards and management to determine strategic direction. She is known for her ability to identify and dissect core issues and mobilize organizations to action winning her the respect of technical contributors as well as other members of her companies. She champions team-based, can-do cultures. Helen is an inventor on four patents. She has strong expertise in healthcare policy serving on presidential health care policy committee. She has worked and lived abroad including third world countries where helped develop sustainable technologies and businesses.

Helen is a graduate of Boston College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology, she attended Northeastern University’s program in biomechanical engineering and advanced coursework in biochemistry, and Harvard University where she received a Masters in management.
